All main parts of the watch appear to be original and period-correct for this late-model 321.

The serial places the production somewhere in 1968, placing this close to the last of the original 321s ever produced.

The bezel is a DNN, but also period correct. It does not appear to be a service bezel. While it is not possible to confirm the DNN came with this watch originally, it is an origin DNN, and late model 321s were sometimes fitted with the DNN bezel along with the 861s being jointly produced at the time. As a matter of historical preservation, I am keeping this DNN with this watch as I believe the aging and patina make it the original one for the watch. The printing, font characteristics, and patina align with an original bezel. Later service variants had slight tweaks to the lettering and sharpness. Closeup pics provided. Please inspect closely.

The watch has been fitted with a new mainspring and genuine NOS Omega hour hammer, per Omega’s service guidance.

The crystal is a NOS genuine Omega Hesalite crystal with the Omega emblem etched into the middle.

The crown is a genuine 6mm x 3mm period-correct crown, with aging and patina aligning with the watch, and also possibly the original to the watch.

Case is a 145.012 - 67ST. Case back is unpolished, except for a buffing around the case back bezel. Inner emblem is unpolished and well defined.

It is running exceptionally well for a 60 year old watch. Timegrapher results after a week of testing show:

  • Amplitude: 250-260
  • Beat Error: 0.5ms
  • Rate: +1s

Chrono engagement sees a slight rate increase to +10s and drop in amplitude to 230, within expectations for a vintage Speedmaster.

Full results available.

The dial is in incredible shape. Also period correct for the 321 and likely also original to the watch. Back of dial shows the Singer emblem, along with prior service evidence, making this a remarkable survivor of the last of the 321 dials. There are no major flaws.

The indices have only very faint traces of lume left (possibly lume-washed decades ago in a previous service). Indices otherwise in very good shape. See pics for details.

Hands are vintage original and period correct. Lume most likely tritium and age-darkened. Overall, the patina is consistent with its age. See pics for details.

Case itself is cosmetically sound, with patina and wear consistent with its age. Only a sympathetic polish was performed, retaining the watch’s overall age, wear, and legacy.

The watch performs wonderfully overall, with all functions operating as expected. I have twice had the watch stop on me towards the later end of its wind. The Chrono minute jumper is technically off by less than a second, and advances just a hair short of a perfect 60 seconds.

This watch is a survivor. I’m sad to let it go. I’d like to see the right collector who can appreciate the care and attention to detail that went into this service. This watch isn’t new… it’s a small piece of history. And I hope it survives yet another 60 years for future generations to enjoy.

Full service details and pics available upon request.
