Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Grande Date
About this watch
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms was the first modern diving watch introduced in 1953. It established the foundational blueprint for dive timepieces by introducing features like a unidirectional rotating bezel, automatic movement, double-sealed crown system, and heavy luminescence for underwater legibility.
Reference 5050-12B30-B52A comes in 45mm lightweight grade titanium case with the signature sapphire-capped unidirectional bezel that offers unmatched, protected luminescence. The dial features Grande Date complication at 6 o'clock position providing great symmetry. The timepiece is powered by the in-house Caliber 6918B automatic movement with impressive 120-hour power reserve and exquisite hand-finishing visible through the exhibition case back. Fitted with an incredibly comfortable, rugged sailcloth strap backed with rubber, secured firmly to the case using hex screws and bars rather than standard spring bars it has 300 meters of water resistance. This timepiece has superior build quality, which surpasses competing divers in this tier (such as the Royal Oak Offshore Diver or the Rolex Submariner) in terms of movement finishing and historical pedigree.
